The State of Union Arena Card Investing in 2026

Union Arena is the wildest market we track, a young Bandai anime-crossover game where each set is a different franchise and the typical set has surged. Across 61 mature sets, here is what is really happening, why the average overstates it, and why the biggest numbers come with the biggest risk. Original data from TCGIndex, as of 4 August 2026.

1. A genuine frenzy, told honestly

Nearly 90% of mature Union Arena sets rose over the last 90 days, and the typical set is up an astonishing +63% over 90 days. We use the median deliberately: the raw average is pulled to over +227% by a handful of extreme outliers, so it overstates the norm. Even the honest number is a frenzy though. This is one of the steepest broad rallies in the entire trading-card market, and it is happening in a game that launched in 2024.

2. The set is the anime

Union Arena's defining feature is that each set is a licensed franchise, so the biggest movers read like an anime chart:

Set (anime)Year90-day changeTracked value
Black Clover2025+171.0%$5,448
Fullmetal Alchemist2025+170.0%$3,795
Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War2024+163.9%$3,115
Sword Art Online2025+148.4%$6,640
Kagurabachi2026+93.0%$8,316

Demand follows whichever series is trending, from Bleach to Sword Art Online to Solo Leveling. The most valuable single set is the Union Arena Promotion Cards at ~$16,300, up 150%, but the pattern is clear: hot licence plus thin early supply equals a spike. That is also why the same forces can reverse.

3. What it means if you are putting money in

  • Treat the gains as momentum, not value. A set up 150% or more on anime hype can give much of it back when the series cools. Size positions for volatility, not for a straight line.
  • Bet the licence, then the scarcity. Value here tracks which anime is trending, then which printings are scarce. Promos and early printings of durable franchises are the steadier picks.
  • This is the high-volatility corner of the market. It is young, reprint-prone and hype-driven. Set-level tracking is how you watch for the turn, which in a market this fast can be sudden.
