The State of Disney Lorcana Card Investing in 2026

A year ago the internet had buried Disney Lorcana: too many reprints, too much supply, the hype gone. The data tells a completely different 2026 story. Across the full tracked Lorcana catalog, the market is staging one of the sharpest rebounds we track, and it has now spread to every release year. Here is exactly what happened, by the numbers. Original data from TCGIndex, as of 4 August 2026.

1. Lorcana did not die, it rebounded, hard

The headline number: of the 16 Lorcana sets old enough to judge, all 16 rose in value over the last 90 days. That is 100%. The average mature set gained about +58% in three months, among the steepest moves of any market we cover.

And the recovery is now total. Every release-year cohort from 2022 to 2026 is up between 26% and 69% over 90 days, and there is not a single mature set in the red. What started as a narrow rebound in the scarcest early sets has broadened into the whole catalog. In practical terms, the entire meaningful Lorcana market is green.

2. The rebound has broadened to every cohort

Group every mature set by release year and the recovery is strikingly even, top to bottom:

Release yearSetsAvg 90-day changeShare risingTracked value
2022 (D23 promos)1+26.3%1 of 1$7,560
2023 (debut year)4+60.8%4 of 4$20,958
20245+57.5%5 of 5$5,534
20255+59.4%5 of 5$22,881
20261+68.7%1 of 1$7,194

The 2023 debut-year sets, the ones scarcity could not be reprinted away from, are still among the strongest (up +60.8% on average, ~$21,000 of value), but the striking thing now is how even the recovery has become: every cohort is up, and the heavily-printed sets have caught up to the scarce ones. Value now concentrates in the 2025 sets (~$22,900) and the 2023 debut year (~$21,000).

3. The standout movers

The biggest gainers over 90 days span the whole timeline, from 2022 promos to a 2026 set:

  • Whispers in the Well (2025): +88.9%. a recent chapter that has nearly doubled, ~$6,200 tracked value.
  • Fabled (2025): +80.9%. the rarity-chase set doing exactly what its name promises, ~$11,800.
  • Winterspell (2026): +68.7%. the newest mature set, already up nearly 70%, ~$7,200.
  • Disney Lorcana Promo Cards (2023): +67.7%. the single most valuable set at ~$16,500, and still climbing.
  • The First Chapter (2023): +39.1%. the debut set, up strongly despite being the most heavily printed of all.
  • D23 Promos (2022): +26.3%. the earliest convention promos, the game's original scarcity.

4. Where the value concentrates

Rank Lorcana sets by tracked market value and the top is promos and enchanted-rare-heavy chapters: Disney Lorcana Promo Cards at ~$16,500 (up +67.7%), Fabled at ~$11,800, the D23 convention promos at ~$7,600, Winterspell at ~$7,200, and Whispers in the Well at ~$6,200. The theme is unmistakable: scarcity that Ravensburger could not print more of, promos, convention exclusives and enchanted rares, is where Lorcana's wealth sits.

5. What it means if you are putting money in

  • The "Lorcana is dead" take is a year out of date. Breadth is total, every mature set is up, and the rally has spread to every release year. This is a rising-tide market right now.
  • Respect the reason it crashed. Ravensburger reprints are what cooled Lorcana in 2024, and they can do it again. Standard cards and heavily-printed base sets are not where durable value lives.
  • Follow scarcity, not hype. Promos, enchanted rares and the early chapters led the recovery because supply could not chase them. Scarcity, print run and demand are the signal, which is exactly what set-level tracking is built to surface.
