The State of Riftbound Card Investing in 2026
Riftbound, the League of Legends trading card game, is the youngest and wildest market we track. It launched in late 2025, crashed hard as the early hype drained out, and has since roared back to become the single fastest-growing of all 14 games we follow, up about 59% over the last 90 days. It is also the smallest and most concentrated market, so the headline number hides as much as it reveals. Here is what the Riftbound market is actually doing in 2026. Original data from TCGIndex, as of 5 August 2026.
1. The fastest-growing market, and the most concentrated
Ranked by 90-day market movement, Riftbound is number one of the 14 games we track, up about +59%. But breadth tells the other half of the story: over the same window, only about 37% of Riftbound cards are actually up. The gains are not spread across the market at all, they are carried by a handful of sets. This is the opposite of a broad rally like Pok茅mon's, it is a narrow, powerful surge in a very small market, which is exactly why it can move so fast in both directions.
2. The sets carrying the market
Riftbound tracks just 8 sets and around 1,550 cards so far, the smallest catalogue of any game we cover. A few of them do almost all the work:
| Set | Year | Set value | 90d |
|---|---|---|---|
| Organized Play Promotional Cards | 2025 | $96k | +412.2% |
| Origins | 2025 | $17k | +16.1% |
| Spiritforged | 2026 | $14k | +10.2% |
The pattern is stark: the Organized Play promo pool is up over 400% and holds more value than any booster set, so scarcity and event distribution, not booster sales, drive this market. The two main boosters, Origins and Spiritforged, are up more modestly. The newest sets have exploded hundreds of percent off near-zero bases, which is noise, not signal, until they age. In a market this young, the loudest numbers are usually the least meaningful.
3. What it means if you are putting money in
- Highest upside, highest risk. Riftbound has the steepest growth of any game we track, but it is tiny, young and concentrated. That combination produces outsized moves in both directions, so size positions for volatility, not for a straight line.
- The promo pool is the market. Value here is dominated by tournament and organized-play promos rather than boosters. Scarcity and event distribution are the signal, which is exactly what set-level tracking is built to surface.
- New sets are noise until they age. A brand-new set up hundreds of percent off a near-zero base tells you nothing durable. Wait for a few months of real price history before you trust the move.
