The State of One Piece Card Investing in 2026

One Piece is barely four years old and already one of the hottest card markets in the world. Everyone senses it; almost nobody has looked at the whole market at once. So we did. Across 85 sets and more than 7,400 cards, here is what the One Piece Card Game market is actually doing in 2026, and where the money and the momentum sit right now. Original data from TCGIndex, as of 4 August 2026.

1. A strong, broad rally, hotter than most TCGs

The headline number: of the 71 One Piece sets old enough to judge (released more than four months ago, so the percentages mean something), 59 rose in value over the last 90 days. That is 83%.

The average mature set gained about +25% in three months, running hotter than Pok茅mon, Magic or most other games we track over the same window. This is not one alternate-art Luffy carrying the market. The strength is spread across most of the catalog, in a game that did not exist five years ago.

2. The wealth is in the launch era, the breadth is in 2024

Group every mature set by release year and the market's structure is clear:

Release yearSetsAvg 90-day changeShare risingTracked value
2022 (launch)10+23.5%5 of 10$233,399
202314+21.1%12 of 14$26,351
202422+32.8%22 of 22$60,281
202519+22.6%15 of 19$113,315
20266+11.1%5 of 6$22,084

The 2022 launch sets and promos hold $233,000 of tracked value, roughly half the entire market, but that wealth is concentrated: only 5 of the 10 launch sets are actually rising, with One Piece Promotion Cards (up 62% on its own) and Romance Dawn carrying the cohort while ordinary launch boosters lag. The steadiest breadth is the 2024 run: up 32.8% with every one of its 22 sets rising. And value is quietly accumulating in 2025, now the second-largest pool at $113,000, up 22.6%. In One Piece the wealth sits in a handful of scarce launch-era sets; the broadest, most reliable gains are in the 2024 cohort.

3. The standout movers, and what they tell you

The biggest mature-set gainers over 90 days point to two forces: scarcity and the anime.

  • Extra Booster: Anime 25th Collection (2025): +139.5%. an anime-anniversary tie-in, ~$37,700 tracked value, the clearest sign the anime cycle drives price.
  • One Piece Promotion Cards (2022): +62.3%. the single most valuable set at ~$222,700, and still climbing.
  • Romance Dawn (OP-01) (2022): +42.4%. the very first set, ~$8,500, the genesis of the game appreciating.
  • Carrying On His Will (2025): +35.4%. a recent main set already worth ~$40,600.
  • A Fist of Divine Speed (2025): +34.2%. a 2025 main set at ~$13,300 climbing steadily.
  • Emperors in the New World (2024): +29.3%. a 2024 booster at ~$18,900, the consistent cohort delivering.

The Anime 25th Collection up 139% is the tell: in One Piece, demand tracks the anime and its anniversaries, not just competitive play. And the launch-era promo pool up 62% on more than $220,000 of value shows the scarce first sets are being treated as this game's vintage, even though it is only four years old.

4. What actually holds the value

Rank One Piece sets by tracked market value and the top is anchored by the launch era and curated chase sets: One Piece Promotion Cards (2022) at ~$222,700, up +62%, is by far the most valuable set we track; Carrying On His Will (2025) at ~$40,600; Extra Booster: Anime 25th Collection (2025) at ~$37,700; and Premium Booster -The Best- (2024) at ~$25,800. The pattern: promos and anniversary or "best-of" reprint sets, where scarcity is real, carry the market's wealth.

5. The risks unique to a young Bandai market

  • Reprints are the constant threat. Bandai reprints popular cards and re-releases sets far more readily than a vintage market ever could, which can cap or reverse a price. Scarcity here is rarely permanent.
  • New launches can correct fast. The newest 2026 sets are the slowest cohort, up about 11% on average and still finding their footing. Barely four years of history means less to anchor to when hype fades.
  • Momentum is not a strategy; the set is. A 2022 promo set and a 2024 booster are both winning, while ordinary launch boosters lag. Scarcity, print run and anime demand are the signal, which is exactly what set-level tracking is built to surface.
